All about melatonin: a hormone that's anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, aids brain detox & SO much more

The Perimenopause Solution Podcast - A podcast by Tara Thorne

Today we talk all-things-melatonin. **I am not a doctor and I do not know you or your individual unique case. Do not take any supplements mentioned in my podcast without first consulting with your doctor. ** Oftentimes, practitioners in the health and wellness space talk about the more "sexy" hormones like estrogen and progesterone, but melatonin is a powerful hormone that does far more for us than just help us sleep. Melatonin is powerfully anti-cancer, and clinical trails are showing very promising outcomes from melatonin supplementation in oncology patients. For this reason alone we must sit up and take notice of this amazing hormone. In this episode I go into how melatonin is anti-cancer, why we become low in melatonin, and I also talk about melatonin's incredible gut health benefits and how it's being used to treat IBS, GERD, gastritis, and other GI issues very successfully. In my practice we've used melatonin to treat some of these conditions ourselves, with great success. I also tell you what my favourite type and brand of melatonin is. There are two types: synthetic and plant-based. Most melatonin you've ever come across is synthetic but it's the plant-based melatonin that is most powerful. I'll explain everything on this episode so settle in and get ready to learn about all-things-melatonin.   Mentioned in this episode: Herbatonin - Save 15% when you use Tara's code: Tara15 Blue Light Blocking Glasses Recommendations: Baxter Blue (Australian site) Save 15% when you use Tara's code: Tara15 Bon Charge Save 15% when you use Tara's code: TARA15 Research mentioned in this episode: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4375362/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32910542/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2908021/#:~:text=Some%20common%20sources%20of%20tryptophan,chocolate%20(see%20Table%201). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6854986/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5409706/#:~:text=Eggs%20and%20fish%20are%20higher,good%20dietary%20sources%20of%20melatonin. https://www.phytomelatonin.com/cognitive-health?utm_source=HPROF-21%20-%20Target%20Group%206&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=HPROF_Newsletter_2023-05-19&_kx=zkXV_eyQC6dn9gmiOeqDMqCeZ5-QibfL0nwAFjggV4QRiVkZaC0VdiHn4953Edh9.Ucc2VP https://www.phytomelatonin.com/cancer-prevention?utm_source=HPROF-21%20-%20Target%20Group%206&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=HPROF_Newsletter_2023-05-19&_kx=zkXV_eyQC6dn9gmiOeqDMqCeZ5-QibfL0nwAFjggV4QRiVkZaC0VdiHn4953Edh9.Ucc2V https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/14/19/3934/htm   Thank you for joining me.
